چکیده

Paper TRACKING NUMBER: 496 ABSTRACT A fuzzy model is presented for representing ordered and incomparable preferences over alternatives. In this model a user’s preference can change dynamically through a gradual transition between any of the strict, indifferent and incomparable class of preference structures. This transition is defined as a function of demand levels on the inclusion of one alternative over another. A model of reasoning is also presented for the resolution of such incomparabilities by an agent who forms beliefs over the expected orderings. The application and novelty of this model are motivated with reference to class of multi-criteria decision problems.

UNCERTAINTY DATA CREATING INTERVAL-VALUED FUZZY RELATION IN DECISION MAKING MODEL WITH GENERAL PREFERENCE STRUCTURE

The paper introduces a new approach to preference structure, where from a weak preference relation derive the following relations:strict preference, indifference and incomparability, which by aggregations and negations are created and examined. We decomposing a preference relation into a strict preference, anindifference, and an incomparability relation. This approach allows one to quantify diff...

On the non-equivalence of weak and strict preference

Rechenauer (2008) claims that weak preference is a better starting point for preference relations than strict preferences. This contention is challenged. Definitional connections between weak and strict preference are suggested that lead to the opposite conclusion. This is not taken as a justification of the superiority of strict over weak preference as the primitive preference relation, but ju...

INCOMPLETE INTERVAL-VALUED HESITANT FUZZY PREFERENCE RELATIONS IN DECISION MAKING

In this article, we propose a method to deal with incomplete interval-valuedhesitant fuzzy preference relations. For this purpose, an additivetransitivity inspired technique for interval-valued hesitant fuzzypreference relations is formulated which assists in estimating missingpreferences. First of all, we introduce a condition for decision makersproviding incomplete information. Decision maker...

A characterization of strict concordance relations⁄

Based on a general framework for conjoint measurement that allows for intransitive preferences, this paper proposes a characterization of “strict concordance relations”. This characterization shows that the originality of such relations lies in their very crude way to distinguish various levels of “preference differences” on each attribute.
